Dr. Michael T. Hills, president and chief technology officer at i2Gemini, brings more than 40 years of technical experience and leadership to the telephony industry. Over the past several years, Dr. Hills has developed theories and a range of new mathematical approaches which have enabled a variety of telecommunications analysis, optimization, design and pricing software from i2Gemini to ultimately save operators millions of dollars.
Considered the premier authority on optimizing networks for long distance and data usage, Dr. Hills has been retained to conduct studies for large corporations, financial institutions, medical facilities, resellers and other public and private sector entities. He has been retained as an expert witness for businesses and the federal government.
Dr. Hills received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Imperial College of London University. He has written several books on traffic engineering and switching systems and has contributed articles to many telecommunications publications. Dr. Hills also developed a modulation technique for transmitting data at over commercial FM radio stations. The system received FCC approval and was used commercially for several years. Later, he developed a new system operating at a higher speed that, together with a protocol, permitted one-way transmission of electronic mail and software over FM radio stations.
Dr. Hills has taught at the University of Essex in England where he founded the first graduate school in Telecommunications System Design. He was also a guest professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
